With the flowers, the lovely table linens and fresh fruit, this feels like the setting for an ideal summer afternoon.
You can create the same mood in your home or on your patio with just a little planning and imagination. Let’s start with flooring. Instead of itchy straw, how about putting down an area rug in a neutral tone? Sisal rugs also have a natural feel. Any table will do, although one in a light tone with simple lines will work best. If your table feels too dark for this look, use a light tablecloth in blue and white.
Flowers really set the stage here, so be generous with them at your own indoor picnic. In the photo, adding purple to the blue and white brings additional warmth to the large bouquet. Keep your arrangements casual and inviting.
Finish up your design with as many blue and white elements as you can include. Scavenge from other rooms to add pillows and accessories. You don’t have to limit your colors, but it’s best to choose natural tones to complement the blue/white theme.
Wrap up the planning with a fresh menu, using fruit and vegetables and maybe some nice cheese and whole grain bread to create a refreshing outdoor country feeling without heading out of town.
