Doors are the grand passageway of entering into a room. Their importance comes from the desire of having privacy, but we feel that doors can be so much more. Most of the time, doors are the first thing you will see entering a room. They close off specific areas of your home and allow the space to have an optional continuous or discontinuous flow. There is an enormous amount of interior doors to choose from, but let us focus on the top tier selection:
1. French Doors.
Oui, oui. We love french doors because they become a statement piece on any wall on which they lay. One of the benefits of having french doors is that they typically draw eyes to their beautiful presence. French doors are often referred to as “the french window,” because they allow an exceptional amount of light into any space. They are typically made with glass panes and tend to attract attention with their brightening appearance.
2. Double Doors.
French doors are not the only statement doors. Double doors tend to make an entryway extravagant with strong, bold doors. They are typically found off the entrance of main rooms that want to draw attention to the entrance/exit. For example, these dominating doors can be located off the entrance of master bedrooms and front entrances.
3. Wood Doors.
If you are looking to provide warmth to your space, wooden doors will do just the trick. Wood doors offer a sound barrier to outside noises. They typically block sounds from other rooms, and they provide a classic finish to any space.
4. Molded Doors.
Molded doors are meant to resemble wooden doors and tend to have a less expensive price tag. These doors are made from fiberglass and are shaped to look like a classic wooden door.
Pro-Tip: Solid-core molded doors contain the same sound-proofing property found in wooden doors. Solid-core doors provide excellent insulation and have the added benefit of fire safety!
5. Barn Doors.
Barn doors have become a growing trend over the past decade, and buyers love them for their dominating demeanor. Barn doors will need an excessive amount of space on your wall, but they are well worth the loss of any wall space. They are a combination between a door and a statement piece because they can become a form of artwork in your home.
6. Hollow Core Doors.
These tend to be the most inexpensive door of the bunch, but their properties show why. They are light, hollow doors that do not block out noise, provide a minimum amount of insulation and do not have fire safety. If you are on a budget, these doors are perfect for adding throughout your home or in rooms where you do not need to block out sound.
These tend to be the most common doors that homeowners choose for their homes, but there is always a larger selection available to you. Do some research and determine what doors are a good fit for your home. The best part about doors is that you do not have to do the same ones throughout your entire home. You can choose one or two extravagant doors then purchase a more budget-friendly option.
